Flood Alleviation – Cascades

DXI have successfully delivered numerous flood alleviation projects including those requiring :

• Stone filled gabion baskets
• Compacted clay core bunds
• River bank protection including willow faggots

A right first time approach coupled with a determination to provide a safe working environment for our operatives is of paramount importance to us.

The gabion baskets were laid on a stepped formation built up of compacted impermeable soils. Each tier was tied into the next lift to give strength to the completed structure.

All of the 6N stone fill material was recovered from on site processing of the excavated cut to fill earthworks.

The works were supervised by a visiting Environment Agency officer who inspected the various stages of construction and accepted the completed structure for incorporation into the permanent works.
