Renewables

DXI project managed the decommissioning of redundant six pack bases prior to reinstating the harbour wall and the block paved promenade.

Existing drainage systems were investigated for integrity having suffered from heavy crane loadings and defective sewer runs were reinstated.

Depressed areas of block paving were removed and excavations undertaken to determine the extent of ground failure prior to backfilling with hydraulically placed sand.

Reinstated areas were subjected to significant compaction testing prior to handover of the area to the Port Authority.

All removed concrete foundations were processed into secondary aggregates and re-used in the backfilling of the voids created.

All of the redundant steel was transferred to a recycling facility for re-use within the construction industry.

Cabling, ducts, footways and hardstandings were removed and areas reinstated to the requirements of the exacting Arup specification.
