Remediation
DXI carried out construction and remediation for building development platforms for our Client in Blackburn. The works were carried out on land that contained poor quality soils with steep slopes in need of remediation
Following an initial activity to access the site with the construction of a temporary access road, a sequence of cut to fill operations were completed, to provide a series of development platforms.
The existing moisture content of both the existing soils and other imported soils was found to exceed the compliance level and as a result was modified using lime, and the soil re-engineered to an exacting specification.
The platforms were then capped to provide a suitable base for piling access.
The development also required a concrete retaining wall to be installed. DXI developed and installed a precast system that offered both programme and cost advantages to the Client.
