DXI brings extensive, hands-on experience to the construction and transformation of modern waste management facilities and household waste recycling centres (HWRCs). We recognize that these sites are critical, high-traffic public assets. To accommodate this, our project teams are experts at working around strict operational hour constraints.
We frequently tailor our construction schedules to fit within narrow, abnormal time windows—including overnight shifts, weekend turnarounds, and staggered off-peak phases. This meticulous logistical planning allows us to execute major infrastructure upgrades with minimal disruption to daily waste acceptance operations, commercial traffic flow, or the general public.
Modifications to existing facilities
Our past performance includes a diverse range of civil upgrades designed to optimize throughput and maximize safety. We have successfully completed complex contracts to modify and repair existing steel-framed transfer stations, upgrading essential waste reception facilities to create a safer, more intuitive interface for public users.
A key component of these upgrades is our capability in heavy concrete wall installations. We regularly construct reinforced precast and in-situ concrete retaining walls, push walls, and storage bunkers. These heavy-duty installations are engineered to withstand the extreme lateral forces of heavy plant machinery and bulk waste compaction, effectively increasing on-site storage volume while structurally separating distinct material zones.

Additionally, DXI plays a vital role in diverting waste streams away from landfills. By expanding waste separation bays and installing dedicated sorting infrastructure, we help clients isolate recyclables more efficiently.
